Why We Founded iStrive Community

We are parents that have joined together to provide access to services and support to address the question:

“What’s going to happen to my Special Needs Adult when I am gone?”

Caregivers supporting their loved ones often worry about the future when they can no longer provide care. We proudly serve Monmouth County, NJ, and the surrounding areas.

The Facts

Over 206,000 individuals in New Jersey have an Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability.

75% of these individuals live with their families, many of whom are aging.

Nearly 38,000 Special Needs adults are cared for by a caregiver aged 60 or older.

Expanding options for individuals with Special Needs

Over the past 50 years, housing and support options for seniors have greatly diversified and expanded. Similarly, individuals with Special Needs deserve access to a wide range of choices that cater to their unique support needs and lifestyle preferences. We believe that adults with Special Needs should enjoy the same opportunities and choices available to their typical peers.
